ELC Scholar

This year I was fortunate enough to be a recipient of the Executive Leadership Council Scholarship sponsored by Comcast. The Executive Leadership Council is a group of 800 Black executives that want to give back to Black students and help them with their education. I was lucky to be one of 135 scholars out of 3,000 applicants! The scholarship is for $10,000 renewable for 2 years so $20,000 total. I also get to form relationships with Comcast and get recruited for internships.

As part of the program I had the opportunity to attend the ELC Honors Symposium in Washington DC on October 1-4, which is a gala that recognizes all the scholars and we get to meet in person as well as connect with our corporate sponsors. I had such an amazing time meeting all the scholars happy to know they will be in my network forever.

Howard University vs Hampton University PwC Case Study Competition

Our strategy was to renovate a building on both campuses and use it for on-campus housing for the students. We also had the idea to provide Metro cards for the Howard students since the Metro is very avid and reliable in Washington DC, it would greatly benefit students living off-campus. I'm so proud of my team for winning the competition as part of our prize we where each gifted $200 gift cards. This was such a memorable experience and I loved collaborating with Hampton University and getting to network with different PwC representatives.

My freshman year in October of 2023 I had the opportunity to participate in the PwC HUxHU case study competition. My team was fortunate enough to win first place! The prompt for the case study was that we had to allocate $1 million dollars to either Howard or Hampton in order to improve their living and housing conditions. We where split in teams based on school but our team was unique, we had members from both Howard and Hampton on our team so we had to figure out how to share that money with both schools. This did make it tougher for us to make am impact on both campuses but regardless we reigned victorious.

Bain & Co. Consulting Kickstart Program

This past summer I had the opportunity to be apart of the Inaugural cohort of Bain's Consulting Kickstart Program where I was able to network with Bain professionals. This competitive program is a remote program where you get exposed to the culture at Bain and get advice on how to get an internship at Bain and how to excel at the company. I was able to gain mentors within the program and meet so many smart and like-minded students from across several schools. This program has opened future internship opportunities for me and guaranteed me an interview for their (BEL) Building Entrepreneurial Leaders Program.
